Exam Corner

Examinations are a method to evaluate the level of understanding of the subjects that have been taught to students at MAIIHM. The examinations are divided into two components:
• Internal examinations
• Term-end examinations

INTERNAL EXAMINATIONS
Each course offered at MAIIHM will have theoretical and practical examinations which carry weightage in the final assessment. Internal examinations will be conducted by utilizing one or more of the following modes:
i. Written tests
ii. Laboratory tests
iii. Field visits
iv. Project work and presentation
v. Project work and viva-voce
vi. Case studies

TERM-END EXAMINATIONS
At the end of each academic semester/term, students are required to appear for the final examination which includes both theory and practical examinations. Theory and Practical examinations conducted at each term end examination will carry weightage in the final assessment.

As per NCHMCT norms minimum 40 percent of marks are required in each theory subject to pass the exams and 50 percent marks are required in each practical exam.

ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR IN THE EXAMINATION

Attendance Norms
• A student must have minimum 75% attendance for appearing in the examination.
• Attendance will be continuously monitored. Students falling short of 75% attendance will be counseled / warned with intimation to parents in advance.
• Relaxation upto 65% may be allowed to cater for sickness or other valid reasons beyond the control of the students for which payment of condonation fee as prescribed by the Institute shall be applicable.
• A student whose attendance is less than 65% in a semester will not be permitted to appear in the Term-End Examination, and will be required to repeat the Semester / Year (as applicable under NCHMCT/JNU/Institute norms)

Fees Norms
• The examination fees, as approved by NCHMCT/JNU/MAIIHM, shall be payable online or at the institute office by the students for various examinations
• Students shall fill up the application form and pay the fees prescribed for the Term-End Examination through online payment or as prescribed by the institute on or before the stipulated date
• All the fees shall be paid within the stipulated time, failing which the student will not be permitted to write the examination
• Students who are unable to pay the examination fee within the schedule given by MAIIHM management may be allowed to pay the fee along with the late fee as prescribed by the competent authority, within a specified deadline, beyond which examination fees will not be accepted
• In case of default Rs. 50/- will be charged per day as late fee charge
• A student who is unable to attend an examination shall not be entitled to receive a refund of the examination fees paid
• The entire fees paid by a candidate whose application for appearing at an examination is cancelled, on account of producing fraudulent documents or giving false particulars, or is debarred/ detained from taking up the examination due to shortage of attendance or otherwise shall stand forfeited
• Students who do not have the required percentage of attendance shall not be permitted to take up the Term-End Examination, even if they have paid the examination fee and submitted the application forms in time
• A student must clear all dues – course fees, hostel fees, etc., to be eligible to fill the Term-End Examination Form
• Hall Ticket for the Term-End Examination shall be issued to those students only, who have the required percentage of attendance, have cleared all dues, have submitted the examination form, paid the examination fees and have not been debarred for any reason.
• In addition to the examination fee, a fee towards the cost of the application form and Statement of Marks and Grades may need to be remitted as prescribed by the Institute or authorized academic body
• A student is eligible to appear in the examination only if no disciplinary action is pending against her/him

Clearance and other Rules
• All students are required to obtain No Dues Certificate (N.O.C.) from MAIIHM Admin. Office before appearing for the Term-End Examination, which is mandatory to get admit cards.
• Students have to carry their ID card and admit card and need to present it to Invigilator during examination.
• Students should reach the examination hall 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of an exam.
• The students will not be allowed to appear in the examination, if they reach the examination hall after 15 minutes from the start of Mid Semester/Sessional examination and 30 minutes from start of Term-End Examinations.
• Student should carry their own exam materials like Pens, Pencils, Erasers, Sharpeners, Rulers, and Calculators any other materials required for the exam. Exchange of exam materials amongst the students is strictly prohibited in the examination hall unless Invigilator permits it.
• Any electronic gadget (Mobile Phones, Smart Watches, and Headsets etc.) or any other material is strictly banned inside the examination hall.

Malpractice
• No candidate shall resort to any malpractice like copying in the examination hall
• Punishment for malpractice shall vary from cancelling the examination taken to debarring a candidate from appearing for examinations. The punishment shall be based on the decision of the Examination Committee of the institute
