Principal's Message

A warm welcome to Mai Institute of Hotel Management (Mai-IHM), located in Malgaon, Sawantwadi, a small and picturesque town in Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra, an aesthetic land of artists and an integral part of the Konkan region offering degree, diploma and certificate level courses in Hotel/Hospitality Management.

India’s hospitality industry is one of the country’s largest service industries, with a business projection of $247.31 billion in 2024 and $475.37 billion by 2029. India’s hospitality sector has experienced a notable boost due to launch of multiple hotel projects, and an increase in occupancy rates ranging from 60-67% compared to the previous year. This translates into an ever-burgeoning demand for professionally trained manpower for the hospitality and tourism industry. The Malvan-Sindhudurg area is set to welcome five-star hotels from Indian Hotels Company (Taj Hotels) and other hotel groups in the immediate future, giving a boost to international tourism in Maharashtra.
